HISTORY
The artwork of David Dolan began as an observation of an accidental blending of chemicals and pigments in order to create a one of a kind table top finish in 1985. This turned into an obsession of attempting to recreate and control this extremely sensitive and uncooperative medium. The challenge became more complicated when realizing that the desired chemical reactions were dependent upon endless variables such as temperature, humidity, and even barometric pressure. Along with the inconsistency of paint chemistry, each painting became completely unique impossible to duplicate.
From 1985 to 2008, through countless trial and error experiments and unyielding persistence, David’s artwork gradually evolved into a truly unique art form, all his own.
